Question for the professionals-Herpes Select-RN-Md

by appleapple, Dec 05, 2003 12:00AM
This is a question concerning the Herpes Select test and its accuracy for people on steroids/compromised immune system.  If you wait a year after possible exposure, the test is negatitive with one follow up test also negative, is this a result you can be confident in.  The only symptom is a red small abrashion that keeps coming back.  I have asked several physicians this question, and all have stated that you would produce enough antibodies to have a positive result-if exposed.

Thanks for your responses.

I assume you would produce antibodies anyway.  However, I lack specific information about this.  I suggest you log onto www.herpeselect.com and contact them at the numbers provided.

Take care.
