Radiation treatment

by Nannyd911, Apr 17, 2008 07:58AM
I have had Hidradenitis suppurativa for almost 10 years now I have had numerous surgeries and procedures for draining, gland removal, cyst removal... and just recently, I was ill for 3 months with an MRSA infection (antibiotic resistant)... Im almost constantly in pain and my body is scarred My legs are spotted like a leapard due to all the tracking and severely cloged pores... I feel like its never going to end I have been waiting for another gland surgery but my surgeon wont move forward until I am in a remission state.. Its been months still waiting... I feel like my remission periods are not lasting longer than a week or two before i have another severe break out and Im back on the meds... I heard that they were considering radiation as a treatment for the disease, with high instances of complete remissions... does anyone know if this is true? Or know of any alternitive treatments other than than the common, anti biotics, surgery, site injections, wound care? Please help i have had enough!

My daughter has been suffering for 10 years she is 21. She is in Stage 3 she has tried EVERYTHING from coidial silver, to lazer hair removal, surgery, every antbiotic that is on the shelf, steriod injections, embrel, remicade the list goes on. The only thing that has given her any relief is a Gluten free diet. A few years ago she wanted to lose weight for the Prom, she went on a strict diet of salad greens( not very healthy) but she lost 50lbs, felt great and was leison free for months! The first time in years. Even the scaring was healing. It lasted for months  like that but little by little she went  back to a regular vegetarian diet of pizza and pasta and she has been getting worse and worse. With some research on the internet we read about the possibilities of gluten being the culprit. Recentlt she went back to gluten free diet but healty this time. It has been 2 weeks and she is already seeing results. I urge you to try a Gluten free diet and report back your results. I am curious if it will help anyone else. Best of Luck
