Raised tongue taste buds.

by david, Nov 16, 1999 12:00AM

I have just noticed that on my tongue I have some raised little areas of flesh, like little bumps about 1mm in diametre flesh colored I have been suffering with a cold for about a week, I just wondered what these little enlarged like taste bud bumps are, and if I should have them look at, they are painless, but I am just curious to know why they've raised a little bit, perphaps they've always been like that and haven't noticed, any advise or information you could give me about this would be much apprechiated, I only have a few just on my tongue, I don't see them anywhere else in my mouth.

Thanks.

David:

They're just papillae, which are a normalpart of tongue anatomy.  They may be more prominent because of the cold, or else you may just have noticed them.

Best.

I recently noticed a few of my taste buds are raised slightly, and further back in my mouth they are larger in size almost like a cancer sore.  I also have a white film on my tongue.  What do you suggest I do?

I have inflammed taste buds that appeared about three days ago and they are sore and irratated.  Someone told me that I may be lacking something in my diet.  Is that true and/or what can I do about it?

Thank you.

I have had problems with the tongue and mouth.  I found a doctor who said that i had contact dermatitus from the plastic within the bonding material used on my teeth.  Apparantly, bonding material can cause symtoms in your mouth, as it is made out of plastic material.

Ihave a sire on my tongue.  It looks like an infected taste bud and it hurts.  I get this every so often, along with many other people that I know.  What is this and how do you speed up the healing process,it usually takes at least a week to heal.

I have noticed bumps on my tongue. There are only one or two at a time.  They are like little clear sacs of fluid. They are very small and I have tried popping them. They come back however. It is quite annoying.
