Rash - Scrotum

I am a healthy 26 year old male, and if it's relevant I used to have eczema as a child (10-12 years old). I have no known allergies (as far as I know) and don't take any medications.

I woke up two days ago with a slight reddish rash on my scrotum - starting from where the shaft meets the scrotum and more prevelant on my right testicle (about 1 inch across) and a smaller circular red rash on my left testicle.  It is not itchy at all  -- it's red, leathery-looking, no blisters or bumps, just a raised red rash -- kind of like poison ivy looks.

I had protected sex with someone late sunday night and did not wash my crotch area.  When I awoke on Monday, I had the slight rash  which has become very red now.

I also had a cut on my thigh on Sunday that I was using Neosporin on, is it possible that its a reaction to that?

Some forums lead me to believe that it could be due to the female having a yeast infection  but they were not clear if this could happen if safe sex was practiced.  not once did the womans mouth or vagina touch my penis without using a condom.  Also, I have read that usually yeast infections are prevalent in uncircumcised males and they effect the shaft itself, in my case there is no rash or bumps or anything anywhere but on my scrotum.

A third thing worth mentioning is that I was wearing a bathing suit which hasn't been washed in a few months while sun tanning in the heat.  Possibly there is an allergic reaction to that as well.

In conclusion, is it possible that it is a yeast infection?? Can yeast from a womans saliva or vagina make contact with my scrotum and cause an infection directly to the skin?  Perhaps its an allergic reaction to the lubricant in the condom she provided -- it wasn't a brand that I've ever seen before.  Also, it happened 6 hours after the sexual encounter, can a yeast infection break out that quickly?  Please advise on what you think it could be and what treatment options are best for me.

Thank You in advance.

I think it's eczema or mild irritation.  Yeast infections are not common in men, and when men do get them the yeast is from the GI tract, not from sexual transmission.  I suggest using over-the-counter 1% hydrocortisone twice a day for 5 days.  If that fails, see a doctor.  If it's better but just a little redness is left, you should leave the skin alone and let the redness fade by itself.

Best.

Thank you for your response.  So it's not possible that her saliva could have made contact with my skin and given me yeast?  Is it possible that a yeast infection rash manifests in 6 hours time?  Just want to make sure because its the first time I've had a rash in years on my body, and it's right after a sexual encounter so it has me slightly worried.

Thank You.

At first I thought it was a allergic reaction because of the short time it took to get red and itchy.  My LP said that it might be irritation due to an allergic reaction that I had, but it hasn't gone away, hence my concern.  I just want it to go away.  I read what you wrote and in my case I noticed a bit a vagina residue on the two sites that are red now after sex.  So it's possible that you might have gotten residue on your scrotum and just had an allergic reaction to her or the products that was used.  I hope this helped
