Rash / Skin Problem (Possible Psoriasis)?

Rash / Skin Problem (Possible Psoriasis)?

Im not quiet sure when this condition first started but im an 18 male and for at least the last couple of years i'v had this skin problem. I was sent to a dermatologist for acne and got treated but I never really asked her about my skin condtion. On my left arm inbetween the "joint" area where your arm folds up and down, I have a brownish spot very visiable, on my right arm it's a lot less visible and not as strong. These spots have been the same for ages. There's another "String" of spots underneath my "chest," that to are brownish. When I take showers of course I wash and I get no pain what so ever no scales at all. The only problem this gives me is mentall discomfort and sometimes i'd wear sweate shirts in summer time. I am overweight i'v done research of psoriasis but have not really identified my self with any of them. To tell you the truth i feel its either psoriasis or Im just a poor washer "in the shower" as embarissing as that is its possibly true, I was brought up with poor higen on my part. I also have these rashes on the points of my knees (behind the knee where the leg bends) Once again no pain no itchyness. My only other question is i'v seen "specs of dirt" as if i didnt wash well in thouse area's and the dirt caused this irration and blockage and so on so forth.

My question is, could this be psoriasis?
If so, what should i do
Could this be lack and poorness of washing my body
If so, recommend any soaps or methods

Feel free to email me at ***@****
I can provide pictures of my arms to better help.

Hi,

Psoriasis is generally a disease of the skin and leads to development of patches of well defined scaly, flaky areas on the skin. Areas involved usually are knees, elbows, shin and extensor portions of the body.

There are many modalities of treatments available including, steroids and other local applications, PUVA and other phototherapies.

'Ointment and creams containing coal tar, dithranol (anthralin), corticosteroids like Topicort Desoximetasone), vitamin D3 analogues (for example, calcipotriol), and retinoids are routinely used.'

There are other measures to be taken and your doctor can tell you more about it.
