Rash, Acne? Bumps on legs and arms.

I have just recently begun to develop some sort of acne or rash, and I am having trouble finding what exactly it is I have. I have done research but come to no solid solution, and cannot afford to see a dermatologist for an in-person diagnosis.

I have red bumps, they rarely ever itch or burn, and sometimes have "heads" on them (very subtle, no pus that I can see when "popping" them) That are very prominent, and plentiful on my legs, from the tops of my ankles, to my mid thigh, as well as a similar condition on my inner thighs. They have just recently begun forming on the bottom of my forearms as well. They begin a bright red, almost pink color, and more often than not have no white/black head to them. After about 8-10 hours, they become a somewhat darker red, and either have a small white head, or no head to them at all. I have never had this before, and I'm confident that my new work environment has caused this.

I perspire profusely, and I am currently working at a fast food restaurant, in the kitchen. My uniform is a short sleeved white collared shirt, and long black slacks. Could this be a cause?

I have always had clear, clean skin on my legs and arms, and these "bumps" are almost depressing in how they detract from my physical appearance.

Any and all advice would be greatly appreciated! It's hard to go out, wear shorts or a swimsuit when my legs, knees, and thighs are becoming overrun with this skin condition! Thank you very much, Von.

Thank you very much for this, it is greatly appreciated!

As of now, it seems this inflammation has been healing rather well on it's on through the methods you recommended. It seems to only recur when I work. I will speak with my manager at work regarding this to see what he has to say.

Thank you very much kindd!

Hello,

Without examination, confirmation of a diagnosis is tough, but it sounds like folliculitis. Folliculitis is the inflammation of one or more hair follicles. The condition may occur anywhere on the skin.

Folliculitis starts when hair follicles are damaged by friction from clothing or blockage of the follicle. In most cases of folliculitis, the damaged follicles are then infected with the bacteria Staphylococcus (staph).

Pls keep the area clean and apply some warm compresses. Also wear loose-fitting cotton clothing and use an antibacterial soap or mild soap like dove.Avoid any kind of cosmetics. Topical antibiotics such as mupirocin or neomycin containing ointment are also useful. In case the symptoms persist then oral antibiotics may be needed.

If still the symptoms do not improve then pls get a clinical examination done by a dermatologist. Hope it helps.Take care and pls do keep me posted on how you are doing or if you have any additional doubts.
