Rash & Swelling on lips

I am a 28yr old female, w/a history of psoriasis on my hands and underarms. I have recently noticed a rash like apperance to my lips with swelling. What is this? is it psoriasis? I've been to my general doc and he knows nothing about psoriasis and gave me a perscription for steroids for the swelling and took a bunch of blood to run test. I am not going to take the steroids they frighten me. I will wait for the test results hopefully they shed some light on the situation. He did check his "book" and his "book" says psoriasis on the lips is not possible.

Psoriasis is a long-term (chronic) skin problem that causes skin cells to grow too quickly, resulting in thick, white, silvery, or red patches of skin.It is thought that psoriasis occurs when the immune system overreacts, causing inflammation and flaking of skin. Psoriasis of the lips is possible and you need to get an evaluation done and a biopsy sample taken by a dermatologist.
