Rash, spots and intermittent burning on penis

by Hooper26, Jul 26, 2009 02:29PM
Back in September 2008, after the first time I had penetrative sex, sadly unprotected, I began to develop a burning sensation in my penis, pain when urinating, and the shaft and the head of the penis became red and quite tender.

This has been going on ever since, coming and going in various degrees. Spots, not ulcers, come and go with an accompanying red rash. I've been seen by various doctors - the initial diagnosis was a yeast infection, but pills and cream for that did nothing. There is intermittent transparent discharge that seems to coincide with the pain/rash. The rash seems to get worse with poor hygiene. There is also intermittent testicular pain.

Are there any stds that exhibit this kind of behaviour, for example a mild outbreak? Even though it was initially diagnosed as a yeast infection, I've heard very little about them lasting this long.

I've been tested for HIV, Syphilis, Chlamydia (swab test as this is what my doctor suspected it was), Gonorrhoea and nothing has come back positive. It still sounds like Chlamydia, but I haven't come back positive. I was first tested back in January 2009 and again 2 weeks ago, and the clinic operates a policy of 'No news is good news' meaning they are all probably negative. Sadly, due to 'confidentiality reasons' I can't confirm my results over the phone, only in an appointment, and I'm out of the country.

Obviously, i'm concerned, as this has been going on close to a year now.

Hello,
Since the symptoms have been present for over an year,so it sounds ike Chlamydia or urethritis. Men with signs or symptoms of Chlamydia might have a discharge from their penis or a burning sensation when urinating.

Urethritis is inflammation of the urethra. The main symptom is dysuria, which is painful or difficult urination.
A swab examination and culture will help in confirming the diagnosis.I would suggest a urologist’s evaluation for this. I hope it helps.Take care and pls do keep me posted on how you are doing or if you have any additional doubts.Kind regards.
