Rash/Scabs on upper arm

Over the last three years or so, the outer part of my arms between my shoulder, and my elbow have become very dry with lots of tiny rash/scabs.  It's a darker than my skin, and very rough.  Nothing seems to be helping on a permanent basis.  I've used several medicated ointments/creams, but they only help for a short time.  It is very embarassing whenever I wear tops that are sleveless, and I'm very conscious of this condition.  Because I'm light skin, it's even more obvious.  Help, Please!

Sounds exactly like what I have.  Thank you so much. I will definitely try the cream from Sephora, since I have to go there this weekend anyway.

I am not an expert but most of the woman in my family get this, if what you are discussing is isolated to the back part of your upper arm which is usually smooth. I believe it is called Keratosis Pilaris. Mine is very red and can get aggravated in the summer.

There are several things which help this. Exfoliation DAILY. and there is also a cream that has AHA in it which you can purchase at Sephora called KP Duty. That cream is especially designed for this condition. Or  try using hydrocortizone. Anything to unplug the follicles and slough off the dead skin gently. Good luck!
