Rash/bumps

So I got in the shower tonight and I was washing my back and I found a spot about the size of my hand that is covered in small red bumps, some kind of rash. I have been at National Guard drill all weekend. The bumps do not itch but did give a very small burning sensation when the warm water of the shower ran over them. Can someone help me?

It would be difficult to assess without having a look at the lesions. Hence it is important for you to consult a dermatologist for proper treatment.

Your rash could be the result many causes such as irritation, dermatitis (atopic, contact, and allergic), hives or insect bites, heat rash, excessive sweating, folliculitis or some medical condition like SLE.

The diagnosis would be based on the presence of any accompanying symptoms such as fever, pain, swelling, itching or any rashes/swelling in other parts of the body?  Sometimes use of any new soaps, perfumes etc can result in an allergic reaction?  

Hives are usually allergic (food, medication and insect stings) but may also be due to infections and stress. Many a times no specific cause for them is ever found. They usually go away on their own, but in a few cases, medicine might be needed. The most commonly used oral treatments are antihistaminics (such as cetirizine, loratidine, benadryl available over the counter). You should try moisturizing lotions and calamine lotion which have a soothing effect and avoid using any cosmetic products.  

If the rashes persist you should consult a dermatologist who can determine the cause and prescribe appropriate treatment for it.
