Rash from benzamycin

After using benzamycin gel for about 3 weeks, I developed  patches of very dry, itchy, red marks on my chin and below my eyes in addition to small red bumps on my forehead. I have discontinued the use of benzamycin gel right after the appearance of these rashes. They went away without any treatment but have returned again after several weeks in the same areas. A co-worker of my mine suggested hydrocortisone but I am not sure. What treatment should I use? Thank you for your time!
