Rash/iching bumps try again..

by Gav1, Nov 02, 2003 12:00AM
I slept with my girlfriend a few days after she shaved her pubic area, i got 2 or 3 red pimples on my legs, which did what pimples do, were quite small, and about 1 inch apart where her thigh touched mine.  no dramas there.
later I also got one on my arm. I got a bit concerned at this point because the pimple on my arm had a red sore area around it. After I poped the pimple on my arm (shouldn't have, but did.) the sore area expanded from the size of a quarter to about 8 inches long by 2 inches wide. It felt very bruised. two small pimples poped up next to the first about an inch away. it faded in a week or so.
A week later, slept together, got a couple more bumps, you get the idea.though one of the bumps did have a red sore spot around it like on my arm, the red sore spot (slight discoloration only, no inflamed skin) spread to be 1.5 inches by .5 inch, don't have a clue, but hey didn't seem serious. everything faded quickly.
one of the recent weeks, (she had been shaving periodically) we spent more time in bed than usual, and i ended up with 20 or so little pimples that were from .5 inches to 1 inch apart. All of these bumps seem to be at the root of a hair.
I started getting concerned when three bumps in approx. the same place on my arm reappeared and iched slightly. This happened ~2 weeks from when they first appeared.
She shaved again, she has rather coarse hair, and i actually felt scraping during intercourse, including some scraping on my penis. Nothing happened that night, but the next morning i had a large red patch (felt bruised just like my arm had) which developed 3 larger pimples 1 inch to 1.5 away from eachother and many little pimples, some pretty close together.  the red bruise slowly expanded down my leg. (as bruises do?) its almost gone now (4 days later) and the pimples are all dried up, though a few new ones have formed.
last time we had sex, the sensitive underside of my leg rubbed, it hurt a bit at the time, but it created a 2 inch by 4 inch patch or raised skin that itches (all the bumps i recently got itch) it looks like a cluster of red bumps (very tiny bumps) all mushed together, the edges of the patch have bumps that are not close enough so that the red is touching. its quite dry, and started to peel. its as if an entire layer of skin could just be pulled off (and its doiing that as it gets rubbed when i walk)  the scrapes on my penis did not create any bumps, but did hurt the skin, which is now dry and trying to heal.
if i itch around the area more bumps seem to appear.2 bumps appeared on my left arm too, and 2 on the part of my pinky that has hair on it. all very small and itch slightly looking exactly like pimples, no indent.
Ive been applying antiinflamitory moisturizing antiseptic anesthetic to the area.
I was afraid of herpes, but it doesn't fit. but folocultis and molluscum might?or irritation. she says she has no stds. cant really see a dermatoligist, im in australia. all the bumps are small.

Not much to add.  Herpes doesn't fit.  Molluscum doesn't come and go.

I can't make much sense of all the bruising you write about, or about the "2 inch by 4 inch patch of raised skin that itches."
(Are you sure you're not aggravating the situation by scratching and rubbing after the fact?)

Australia has excellent dermatologists.  How come you can't you see one?

Best.

Forgot to say: the bumps, if broken, don't cave in, just get red, and its not a waxey substance that comes out, its more fluidy, just like normal pimples.

Thanks for the advise! sorry bout the two posts, hit submit before i meant to! I can't really see one cause im on vacation in australia, moving around the place all the time, dermatoligists don't seem to be ok with dropping by their offices for a quick appt.. at least the ones ive tried haven't.  As for the red patch, its between my scrotum and thigh, right at the joint.  it started as nothing, turned slightly red, small slightly redder dots formed in the area, then it got really red, and the skins peeling off it now its just dark red underneath, could it be an allergic reaction to a condom chemical? as skin on my penis is very dry too, peeled a bit, and on my scrotum as well.  I assumed from the abrasion i felt.

Take it from a person that is allergic to almost everything.  Sounds like you are allergic to whatever she is using to shave with.  Get her to try a different shaving cream (hypoallergic or just plain ivory soap)  Good luck!

I think you're right, thanks for that mate.  I used hydocortisone 1% on it for about 4 or 5 days, its gone.. .though im getting itchy bumps still.  Im almost positive im allergic to the soap i use in the laundry, as I changed it right before I started having this problem.  Now, Im getting similar bumps in any area that i scrape in the least if its touching clothing.. takes about a day to react, but yea, I took an antihistimen and all of the red itchy swolen bumps shrank to almost nothing.  they respond exactly like hives.. except they develop a pimple in them. . either way, was tested for stds, have none, so im switching soap! hehe.
