Rash in groin area and under arm

by Deb27, Mar 07, 2009 09:13AM
Hi:

I asked a question about a week ago regarding a rash in my groin area and under arm.  Since then, I've been using rubbing alcohol to clean the area one to two times daily and using an antifung/yeast ointment.  It's only been 5 days but it's starting to clear up, actually I saw improvement as soon as I started using the rubbing alcohol.  My question, should I just finish using the antifung/yeast cream for the 2 week duration with the rubbing alcohol or does it seem more bacterial since the rubbing alcohol is when I saw improvement.  Dermatologist appointment isn't for 5 weeks!!

Thanks in advance.

Hi Deb,

It seems as if a combination of alcohol and antifungal have decreased the rash. So, I would suggest that you continue both, if you are comfortable. The rash in these areas is usually due to fungal infection, hence continue using them.

Regards
