Rash inbetween breast

by kateanne, Apr 30, 2004 12:00AM
In 1999, 4 1/2 years I had a breast reduction.  DDD to a D.  The docter said he created clevage after he was done so my breast are almost always rubbed together.  When I sleep at night with no bra the reddness fades to pink.  But all day I wear a bra and I am always pushing my breast apart in my bra to move air around.  I have tried differnt bras I have tried powder, silcone gel, rash creams.  I've been to my reg doc. and got a strong anti-fungal cream.  It did nothing.  It has been getting worse lately. The reddness is spreading around the middle area. It is red, raw, raised up aliitle and sometimes flackes and cracks. I can not remember when it showed up, but now it seems like forever.  I would say about 1 1/2 years is when I think I saw alittle pinkness. It started around the areas the stiches were. Should I go see a dermotolgiest or go back to surgen?  And is there anything else I could try?

You should see a dermatologist.  What you're describing is almost certainly an irritant eczema rather than a fungus.  The treatment for this would be a topical cortisone cream, used when the skin is red and raw, not just pink, when it can be left alone.  In addition, anything mechanical you can do to keep the breasts from rubbing would be of use, though it sounds as though you've already tried that option.

Best.
