Rash on Stomach

Rash on Stomach

I had a small rash on my waist line a week ago, but it went away.  I then started tanning this week(I have tanned before)and after my second time at the tanning bed I have a rash around my belly button and waist line area.  The rash does itch. I have worn the jeans that I was wearing before this rash started.  I have also tanned before as well.  I have been applying Hydrocortizone creme to the area to help the itching.  What could this be?

Not sure, Ally.  Some peple get rashes around their belly button from nickel in jeans clasps.  Do you get rashes from jewelry?

Of course, it may be just irritation and/or sweat.

Try the hydrocortisone and see.  If it goes away, fine.  If not, show a doc.  I doubt that tanning is directly involved, though.

Best.

I had a rash develop after I went indoor tanning upon returning from Brazil.  I went to a dermatologist and after taking Claritin, psorcon cream and some other pills, the rash essentially went away leaving white spots.  I felt safe to go tanning again.  Spoke too soon b/c immediately after the 15 minute tan, the rash broke out on my stomach again.  I've been tanning for over 6 years and have never seen a breakout like this.  It still remains a mystery as to why it's been months and I am still not in the clear.
