Rash on back of hands

Rash on back of hands

Over the last week or so a rash has been developing in the back of my hands primarily on the lower knuckles and a bit below. It is slightly red and a little bit painful. There are two darker more defined circular like areas on the right hand and the skin looks even drier and more cracked.

I was wondering what this might be and if there is any reason for concern.

I also rubbed my eyes with the back of my hand and the rash area and I was wondering if that could be dangerous in terms of infecting my eyes with anything. I'm a bit paranoid when it cPmes to my eyes.
Thanks in advance

Hello,
For such circular rashes, nummular dermatitis which is a sort fo eczema and granuloma annulare should be ruled out. Granuloma annulare is a chronic disease consisting of a rash with reddish bumps arranged in a circle or ring. Usually it is asymptomatic but can cause cosmetic disfigurement.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care.
