Rash on buttock, hand, and back of neck

I have rashes that are located behind my neck, the palm of one hand, and the buttock area.  (Attached is the buttock rash).  They are extremely pruritic, chronic, and flare up frequently.  Often dry scaly skin detaches from the area with subsequent bleeding from the underlying skin.  The skin is also darker in pigmentation.  Can you give me a diagnosis (ezcema?, psoriasis?, ???) and help with suggestions for topical treatment?

Hi,

Its quite difficult based on just the buttock rash to say whether it is eczema, lichen planus or psoriasis. I would probably favour one of the ezema or lichen planus, but if you upload pictures of the rest of the rash that would give me a better idea. Regardless you will need to use a potent steroid like clobetasol propionate for a couple of weeks and reduce to a less stronger steroid like clobetasone butyrate. Please do upload other pics though, before you start using anything.

Hello,
From the symptoms it looks like eczema. Do not use any cosmetic products at the sites. You can apply some calamine lotion at the rash as it will help in soothing the skin. You can take some OTC oral antihistamine medications like Benadryl or Claritin and see if it helps.

For mild-moderate symptoms a weak steroid may be used. But they should be taken only after consulting a dermatologist. Also wear cotton clothes and apply some moisturizers.
It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
