Rash on hand

by Sharon, Mar 10, 2000 12:00AM
On the top my left hand close to my wrist I have these small reddish bumps. They started showing up about 4 yrs ago but the last year they have gotten bigger (about the size of pimple). It seems to be spreading, I have found pin size bumps on my fingers. Sometimes they itch or become more red (not that often). If the top layer is removed they bleed.  I thought maybe they are warts. Any help or treatment would be great.

Sharon:

Hard to say without seeing.  Most likely they are warts.  Some or all of them may be a mild form of eczema.

You really ought to see someone, though, if you want definitive diagnosis and treatment.

best.

my daughter is 9 months old and has a rash that consists of small bumps that look like infant acne. however, it is not this. it started on the backs of her hands and seems to have spread to one of her cheeks and also near her eye (where she usually rubs with her hand when she is tired). i am just wondering if this is something i should be concerned about and if it will go away on its own or continue to spread.

I have had a rash on the left and right bottom portion of my right palm. This condition has been going on for over a year and i have been to 3 dermatologists. It started out to be a very itchy palm, then little bumps appeared and became even more itchy. Then it started to appear more rash like and crusty and even more itchy. I have tried every topical perscription cream and tapes, now my hand has basically peeled in that area and is very sore, and now the skin feels thick, rough, sore and itchy.

We have tried to rule out any contact dermatitis, and now the next step is to go for skin patch testing. Please note this is only on my right palm.

Does this sound like any conditions that you have seen?

I would appreciate any advice.

Thank you, Leslie
