Rash on head of penis

Hello. I'm quite nervous about a persistent rash that I have been having for about two weeks. It started as dryness on the upper right part of the shaft of my penis. Then it started to get itchier and itchier, until the head of my penis began to itch as well. Then the head of my penis began itching as well, and then a small read rash formed on the right side of my penis. The itching is mild and the rash has spread and taken up most of the area on the head. I have never had sex before so I'm positive it isn't any STD. It is dry and scaly on top but when I scrubbed away the dry skin it is red underneath. I tried using an antifungal but it burned much too much and I had to stop in mid treatment. If I can get help I'd be very grateful, as this has been a personal emberassment and annoyance for  too long.

Hi,

You need to describe your lesion and symptoms further. What is your age?

This could be due to allergic reaction or some bacterial infection/ fungal infction.

Nothing can be said with surety without having a look at the lesions.

It would be best to consult your doctor about your symptoms and get a proper clinical examination.

Keep the area clean and wear clothes washed in a few drops of chlorhexidine preferably and dried in the sun.

Calamine lotion and oral antihistmaine medications would help with the itching.

Let us know about what your doctor advises.

Regards.
