Rash on hips and stomach

Rash on hips and stomach

I have a rash that just doesn't seem to go away, I have had it for months.  It is located either on my hip bones or right below my belly button.  It comes and goes, I have not changed anything in my diet, I don't have any new lotions or soaps, using the same laundry detergent.

It doesn't itch all the time, but when it does, I feel like I am going to scratch my skin raw, I have to sit on my hands to stop myself from scratching.

I know it isn't scabies, I have had that before (a very unfortunate event!, and something I will never forget)

Thanks for any thoughts!

Hi,

This could be allergic reactions to unknown substances, skin hypersensitivity, eczema, dermatitis or insect/bug bites.

Do you notice the lesions trigerred in response to a specific stimulus like sun exposure, some substance related to your work place?

You should try to keep the area dry and clean. Try some powder to absorb the sweat.

Apply calamine lotion at the site and take some oral antihistamine medications like loratadine or cetrizine for your complaints. You should wash all your linen and bed clothing once in an antibacterial solution and sun dry it.

If the symptoms are still persistent, consult your dermatologist and get a proper clinical evaluation done.

Let us know if you have any doubts and keep us posted on how you are doing.

Good luck.
