Rash on legs, thighs with pain under my feet

Hi,

Its been a week since i developed a rash/eczema. It started as small red spots on my legs above my ankles and as the days passed became small red blotches and at night the red blotches become bumpy and there is terrible pain in my knees, calf muscles and under my feet, making it difficult to walk.It has now spread to my thighs and moving upwards. Today the same red spots have started on  my hands. I surfed the net and some sites suggest allergy to dust mite. Its been 2 months since we moved to Canada from a hotter climatic condition. If this info.helps.

I will be seeing the doc on Tuesday May 5th.Any suggestions??

Hello,

Without examination, confirmation of a diagnosis is tough but it sounds like erythema nodosum. It results in reddish, painful, tender lumps most commonly located in the front of the legs below the knees.

Diagnosis is by physical examination and biopsy of the lesion. Other lab investigations like complete blood count, ESR,ASO titer, urinalysis, throat culture, intradermal tuberculin test, and chest x-ray may also be done.

I wuld recommend a physician/dermatologist’s evaluation. Treatment depends on the confirmation of diagnosis. The other possibilities are bed bug bites, allergic reaction or contact dermatitis.
I hope that helps.Take care and pls do keep me posted on how you are doing or if you have any additional doubts.Kind regards.

Hi,

Thanks for your reply. The pic you see above was on day 3, today is day 9. I had been waiting so long as some of the red bumps were going off on their own. But yesterday, i broke out with a whole lot of them and decided medication was required urgently. This evening i am going to a family doctor, will let you know what he says.
