Rash on my Face

I have a had a persisitant rash on my face now, for over a month. It started out as flesh colored bumps and it itched. The bumps became very red and the itch got worse. I have both eczema and severe allergies. The rash is just along the right side of my face along the jaw line. It has not spread, and no one else has caught it from me. I went to my physician and he said to use 1% hydrocodozone cream twice a day. It went away briefly and then came back. Now the cream is not helping at all. I have noticed that is in the exact spot on my face where my cell phone sits when I use it. I don't know what this could be but it is getting to be more irritating by the day.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi

This may be contact dermatitis. This seems to be very localized on one side of the face and you have noted that this seems to coincide with the area that the cellphone touches. This makes contact dermatitis a likely diagnosis. Avoid using the cellphone in such a way that it rests on this side of the face. Also, try to avoid sleeping on this side, as your face may be irritated by the pillow's surface. Avoid any known triggers and continue using the hydrocortisone cream. The steroid is mildly potent so this may be safer to use over the face. Just apply thinly over the area. Avoiding the triggers is the main step to prevent recurrences.

Dermatitis is a chronic skin condition and with your history of allergies and eczema, this is likely to recur from time to time.
