Rashes on glans of penis

by bruce555, Sep 27, 2009 01:25PM
I recently noticed two small spots on my glans penis It was painless but there appeared to be a loss of a single layer of skin and I had not had  sex for around 2 months.  This spot started to disappear after I used a wound healing cream but another 2 appeared after few days. there is a loss of a single layer of skin (its not like an open wound, or penetrating the other layers of skin - just a single surface layer of skin).  The 'spot' is not raised and is only slightly red in appearance, Im guessing this is just through the loss of skin....when the 'spot' disappears there doesnt appear to be any marks of scars left. What it can be?

Hello,
I cannot confirm anything without examination but it can be contact dermatitis or rash due to friction rub with clothes. Apply warm compresses, Neosporin ointment and calamine lotion and avoid messing with it. You  can take anti-inflammatory pain killers like ibuprofen or acetaminophen. If the symptoms persist then it will be best to get it evaluated from a dermatologist.

I hope it helps. Take care and please do keep me posted in case you have any additional doubts. Kind regards.

Thanx for your help.
Can it be a infection or something else? I dont have any pain and other problems. Sometimes its little itchy, thats all. Actually I have to pull the foreskin to see if there is spot or not. And with the spot on glans there is always a similar rash on the inner part of foreskin at same place where it is in contact with glans.

Hello,
It does not look like an infection but , most likely is due to friction rub only. Please use the earlier mentioned treatment . In addition, retract your foreskin daily and clean it with fresh clean water. If the symptoms persist then please get it evaluated from a dermatologist.
Hope it helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing or if you have any additional queries. Kind regards.
