Recurring swelling in skin

Recurring swelling in skin

Hi. I've had this problem now for about a month. It all started when the doctor had prescribed me Amoxillin for a week. The first time I took the medicine was on 27/11/2008 .. I know this was a long time ago. But I have read in a lot of other forums that the side-effects of amoxillin can last for a long period.

Now for the symptoms :

1. Rashes on both elbows - This was the first symptom I had after the course of the medication. It appeared as small dotted skin color pimples on my elbow which were itchy. I had applied Betasone Cream about 3-4 after the rash had appeared. About 2 days later the rash had disappeared.

2. Inflammation on skin - I don't know how exactly to explain about the inflammation because this usually happens towards evening time. The usual places it occurs is on my wrist, inside the bend of my leg (softer portion), lip swelling (more upper and sometimes lower). Lip swelling usually starts in the night before I go to sleep, and could stay for half of the next day. But, this only happens sometimes. Something that happened today .. my chin is a bit itchy and appears hard as it its an inflammation. The inflammation on skin started happening about a week after applying Betasone for the elbow rash.

3. Pimples on forehead - This usually happens to me during winter, but something extra that I noticed recently was that some of the pimples that were there earlier on my forehead are appearing like flattened shiny surfaces. Is this normal due to the weather or is it a skin problem?

To give you a better understanding of how the inflammation on the skin appears, it usually comes up as a bulge or a 1-2 centimeter map on my skin (slightly itchy) ..

I had posted in the STD forum earlier about an exposure, but was told that none of my symptoms were related to STD/HIV.

Another 6 more days and it will be 2 months since I first took Amoxillin ..

One of the main doubts that I have is, is this a side-effect of the Amoxillin that I took and does it really last for this long (since I have read about many people having long term effects)? Also, does this sound like hives by any chance?

Thank you.
