Red & Wrinkled Skin

by Twinnings, Sep 02, 2009 11:19AM
Hey Doc
About six weeks ago I received manual stimulation from an exotic dancer for what amounted to a few minutes. I'm almost positive there was no genital to genital contact but I can't be 100% sure. As a result, I went in for the full panel of tests (probably overkill) and everything with the exception of hsv2 came back negative. Never knew I had hsv2 until now. It was an igg test done six days after contact so I was told that there's really no way this could have been related to this recent contact. A subsequent negative igm test at three weeks confirmed that this was not due to recent contact.
Here's my question. Everything else came back negative. There's no discharge and I've never experienced any burning but every since this experience I've noticed that the skin on the head of my penis has been a little red dry and unusually wrinkled. It doesn't itch and it' only mildly uncomfortable after continuous rubbing against pants or shorts. At first I thought it was just due to the roughness of the experience as there was really no lubrication of any sort. I think she may have licked her hand once.   It's been six weeks now and itjust still doesn't look right. Is it possible that I picked up some type of fungal infection?  Should I try to tret it with an anti-fungal and see what happens or could this be caused by something else like stress?  Just trying to figure out what this could be.

Based on your description, I don't think you have anything wrong at all--you're just looking very hard at your penis.  The doxycycline is irrelevant.  Yeast treatment is not necessary.  See a dermatologist in person if you still have doubts.

Best.

One more thing to add in case it makes a difference. After this contact I learned that doxycyline is a standard course of treatment for a few of the more common stds. I had some on hand so I went ahead and took it for seven days just in case I had contracted something. In retrospect, now Im wondering if I overdid it with the antibiotics. The doxy I had were 150mg and I took them twice daily for seven days. Based on what I've read online it looks like I may have taken 100mg a day more than I needed. Is it possible that this could have anything to do what I'm experiencing? I thought maybe yeast infection due to the doxy but again there's no itching or any other signs typically associAted with yeast infections.
