Red Bumps On Upper Inner Legs Concern

Hello.
Recently i have been experiencing red bumps on my upper inner thighs and into my pubic hair, and as i apply pressure to the area around it feels like a pea sized bumps are underneath my skin. This problem have been consisting for about 3 weeks and has been and this "outbreak" has been from minor to major (20 bumps each side). I have became worried because i have had unprotected sex a week before this outbreak, but this same week i started using different body wash, and shaved my pubic hair. Im fearing it may be herpes, but could just be jock itch or some sort. Just this recent week i have gotten a rash on both sides in my groin region that itches like crazy, so i have been putting neosporin on it, to see if i get a effect. Any idea what it could be?

Hello,
The itchy groin rash is due to jock itch but the bumps are due to ingrown hair after shaving. You can apply Neosporin on these bumps but this is not the treatment for fungal infection of the groin. Wash your groin daily and then dry thoroughly by pat drying, not rubbing. A hairdryer is useful if you have hairy groins.The damp groin is an ideal site for fungi to multiply. Also wear cotton underwear and change them twice a day and do not share other people’s towels.Application of local antifungal cream(terbinafine, clotrimazole, econazole, ketoconazole, miconazole) and oral antifungal drugs are the mainstay of treatment.
In case the symptoms persist then please consult a dermatologist .
