Red Patches on underside of Penis

Red Patches on underside of Penis

I had a reoccurring fungal infection on the tip of my penis that I believe has been cured through oral fluconazole.  Part of the treatment was Nystatin/Triamcinolone.  For a time I also used Ciplopirox but it made the skin very waxy looking so I stopped that treatment.  Now the underside of the Penis is pink in color and sex/rubbing in my underwear aggravates the condition, causing it to burn for a short period and get more red in color.   When I stretch the skin I notice fine red lines that I am guessing are blood vessels in the skin.  What is going on and how can I possible cure condition?

Hello,
I cannot confirm anything without examination but it can be lichen simplex chronicus or eczema. Lichen Simplex Chronicus is seen in people with eczema.

It is treated like chronic eczema by decreasing water and soap contact, and applying emollients. Topical steroids are almost always needed to control the symptoms. You can use mild steroid cream like Dermacort and if the symptoms persist then high potency steroids and oral steroids may be needed.
My sincere advice would be to consult a dermatologist to get the diagnosis confirmed.

I hope it helps. Take care and please do keep me posted in case you have any additional doubts. Kind regards.

Thanks for your response.  I believe that I have caused this, as it came on recently with the use of the drugs mentioned.  From your diagnosis it appears as if the most logical diagnosis is a form of eczema called contact dermatitis, probably in response to the Triamcinolone part of the cream.  I think that I am going to try applying Hydrocortisone and see where that gets me for the next few days.

Thanks
