Red Scrotum

I had sex with a stranger 2 months ago (condom used) and within a few days developed a bright red scrotum. No real itch or bumps of any kind, some added warmness. It seems that the blood vessels are very visable in the scrotum when it is at the worst.

I went to my family DR and tried an anti-fungal/steriod creme for 2 weeks, no improvement. I then went to a dermatologist and I'm currently 1 week into a 2 week prescription for ketoconazole with only a slight improvement. I also have a red and slightly puffy opening on my penis.

I have brought up the sexual encounter to both DR's and neither has seemed to concerned about STD's and didn't do any STD tests. This is all I can think about and I'm really worried.

I am very interested in your opinion as what to do next and secondly, is there any STD with these symptoms that I need to be aware of? Thanks alot.

Redness of the scrotum doesn't sound like an STD to me either, although I understand your concern.  In my experience, the best treatment for this is no treatment at all.  If the ketoconazole doesn't make a difference in 2 weeks--and it probably won't--I'd just let it be and not pay attention to fluctuations in redness that come with heat, friction, etc.  I think your doctors are correct.

I have had one sexual partner for many years with now sdt problems when very foolishly I had sex for the the first and last time with a china girl prostitute abroad, I use a condom but she sucked my balls, a few days later my balls tingled and became red and I have had this condition to varying degreas since, it dosent fit with the bog standard std knoledge but to me it is probebly fungle and or viral and defently sexualy contracted, I shall let you know if and how I fix it, I shall go back abroad soon and ask a local doctor as they must be familiar with the condition as (I can testify) it is easy to catch, your letter amongst some other exact examples on posted on the net has given me graight comfort as I know I,m not alone.
