Red Spot on my Armpit

I have a redspot on my armpit now for about 3 weeks. When it first showed up, it hurt to move my arm around at all. It was quite sensitive. That only lasted about 2 days though. Its a bright red that gets lighter in the middle. Its not directly in my armpit but right where my armpit starts to form from where my arm meets my chest. Another thing is that it smells quite bad. And not just ordinary armpit smell. I mean its BAD. Anyways, hope you can give me some sort of clue about what this is and what to do about it.

Nothing serious, but needs treatment.  It could be irritation, a rash called seborrhea, or--this is much less likely--a yeast infection.  Please get some 1% hydrocortisone--over the counter--and make a dermatology appointment.  If the cream doesn't clear it up before the appointment comes around, let the doctor have a look.

I noticed some red lumps in my armpits about an hour ago. It hurts to move my arm around. At first they looked quite big and red, then I took a long warn shower and they seemed to go down, now they are smaller than a pea, and kinda pinkish, but still sensitive to the touch. If it makes any difference I have had 8 common cold/cough  related illnesses in less than as many weeks.
