Red blotchy skin and shallow spots after CO2 laser

by saks, Dec 28, 2005 12:00AM
I worshiped the sun because it cleared up my acne.  It caught up to me and depleted my collogen production.  I was sick of injections so I had CO2 laser resurfacing.  It's been 2 1/2 years and I'm still dealing with after effects.  I have been treated with PDL for deep tissue damage.  I have blotchy red skin  and shallow areas when I don't drink enough water.  (I don't think the doctor went deep enough on my cheeks)  Anyway...I just started using Metrogel and there's no change in my skin tone.  Should I be using vitamin c products for the redness?  Also...is there anything I can do for the shallowness?  Topical creams, microdermabrasion, laser?  I just want my skin to be clear and smooth!  Please help.

Sorry, but I can't tell from your description what you have, or whether you have anything at all.  I also don't know what "deep tissue damage" means--scarring?

There are ways to decrease sallowness, such as laser or IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) treatments.

You really ought to put these questions to the doctors who have seen and treated you with CO2 or PDL lasers, since they are familiar with available cosmetic possibilities.

Best.
