with a single hair growing right out of the middle of it, I had shaved my genitals with a razor before I fooled around with the guy. Afraid that it was genital warts, I went to Urgent Care doctor. He said it could be genital warts but he didn't think so because there was a hair growing right in the middle of it. He gave me a prescription for 500 mg Cephalexin 4 times a day for a week. A week later the spot
and he prescribed me Sulfamethoxazole-TMP DS to take twice a day for 10 days. It cleared up somewhat, but then came back before the 10 days was over. Going crazy, I went to the local health department on August 22nd and got checked: gonorrhea, chlamydia, syphilis all came back negative. The doctor who examined me said that it wasn't genital warts or herpes. I forget how he described it or what exactly it was, but he reassured me that it wasn't warts or herpes and that it was underneath the hair follicle
and that it may have gotten infected when I shaved. The doctor at the health department prescribed me Nystatin-Triamlcinolone cream for 10 days. It completely cleared up during that time. However, within the past day or so, the redness has come back in the exact same spot. Today I no. Upon putting some hydrogen peroxide on it, it began to bubble up and burn. It looks like there are tiny tears on it, I have been masturbating pretty hard without lube the past few days, so that may be it.
My question is, what could it be? I've taken two rounds of antibiotics and a topical steroid to it and it just seems to come back. It has never hurt at all or itched.
I'm going crazy about this, I can't stop thinking about it and any help would be greatly appreciated.
ps. sorry about the pic, its the best one i could get.
Thanks
Sebaceous cyst contain only a tenaceous mucoid liquid. Infected sebaceous cysts are just swellings. Antibotic (antibiotic) treatment modifies the cyst too.
I went back to the Urgent care today and the doctor said that, for sure, it didn't look herpetic. She said that they were going to get me in to see a Urologist as soon as they had an opening. Thanks for your input too, I really appreciate it.
Hello,
If it is a small bump then chances of a cyst are more and if it is a red spot on the skin then it can be due to friction rub. Wash the areas several times with fresh water. Do not use any cosmetic products at the sites. You can apply some calamine lotion at the rash as it will help in soothing the skin. Also wear cotton undergarments. If the symptoms are severe then it will be best to consult a dermatologist.
It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
