Red bumps in pubic Area, Now getting White bumps around my lips, what is this?

by RyeRy, Oct 17, 2009 04:14PM
I'm a 19 year old male, I had unprotected sex a couple months back, big mistake. I ended up getting tested and had Chlamydia, i got treated so thats gone. Then about 2 months after i started getting red bumps in my pubic area, that haven't gone away. Ive had 1 or 2 on my penis but have gone away. Under the head of my penis are lil bumps, they also haven't gone away. And now 2 months after all that was discovered I'm getting white bumps on my lips. They feel chapped but I'm just not sure after what ive been going through recently and ive never seen them before. Also I've had a lot of pain in my abdomen area as well, told it was a hernia one time but im getting a physical soon to find out about that but I went to a urologist and said they red bumps might be hpv but he would need to do the whole lab thing. I dont have insurance so i couldn't do that. I'm really scared about everything and just looking for some help so i can get this behind me and move on.

Can anyone help me?

by Bhupinder Kaur, MD, Oct 21, 2009 10:01AM
To: RyeRy,
Hello,
Without examination, confirmation of a diagnosis is tough but it can be folliculitis, contact dermatitis or sexually transmitted diseases .Even genital warts cannot be ruled out as it is spread through direct skin-to-skin contact during oral, genital, or anal sex with an infected partner.

You may try calamine lotion on the rash. You should also maintain hygiene and try to keep the area clean and dry, wear loose-fitting cotton clothing. Also use an antibacterial soap or mild soap like dove. Avoid any kind of cosmetics. You can also use a barrier cream with zinc oxide paste or calamine lotion or a mild steroid cream like dermacort on the rash.
If the bumps persist then it will be best to get it evaluated from a dermatologist. Genital warts have to be ruled out.
I hope it helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing or if you have any additional doubts. Kind regards.
