Red dots and Hives

I've known for the longest time that I've had red dots on one of my hands that won't go away. But lately I've had more sprout up throughout my body that will disappear within a few days. Also, for the past week and a half I've had small groups of hives that still haven't gone away. In fact, it seems like I keep finding more and more. Could you tell me if these two things are related, and if it is something that is serious? Thank you.

Thanks for the responses. I keep trying to convince my mom that I should go to the doctor's to get them checked but she just doesn't think it's that serious. Probably because I have mild hypochondria.
The hives eventually went away.

Also, the red dots are not itchy and I used to take vitamins often, but none of the dots cleared up.

The dots don't really bother me in any way, I just know that it's not normal which worries me.

Again, Thanks for the info and advice :)

Hello,
From the symptoms it can be due to petechiael spots or hives. Petchiael spots are pinpoint-sized red dots under the surface of the skin. They are common after skin trauma and viral infections. They should go away in a few days. But if they persist then please consult a physician and get other causes ruled out which include allergic reaction, autoimmune diseases, thrombocytopenia, ITP or leukemias. Also try taking iron tablets and multivitamins for some days and see if the symptoms improve. If the spots are itchy then hives in response to viral infections or allergies need to be ruled out.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.

Hi,

Please take advise from a dermatologist for this. You might be some allergic reason for this. Both the things may be related. Whenever there is some chemical alteration in body due to some food or environmental factors one can have this. You need to find reason for this and treatment as per the cause

Wishing you good health.
