Red face

by Damien, Dec 20, 1999 12:00AM
Hello,
i am 21 years old and over the past year my face has flared up again and again. It is on my cheek and chin area. It is now permanently red. I have tried load of creams to sometimes they work then it flares up again. Please advice me as it is become hard to cope with.

Damien:

It's hard to be sure what you mean by "flares up," but I assume you mean with pimples.  You need to get medical treatment to suppress these, which are very common even at 21.  Once you stop them, and you can, the redness will go away.  It takes 3-6 months.  Get help.

Best.

For all most a year now I've had reddness around my eye's and the top of my cheeks.  Three months ago I finally went to a Dermatalogist to see if I could get rid of this.  Now, three months later nothing he's prescribed has worked and now he's doesn't know what else to do but to sent me to another doctor.  The thing that's freaking me out is that he's saying that some kidney and liver disorders may cause this, along w/ the possibilty that it may be Lupus.  Now, along w/ the reddness I've have been having trouble w/ sleeping, fatigue, rt.abdominal pain and virtigo at times.  Are these symptons of Lupus b/c my doctor thinks so?  If so what kind of tests would I have to do to prove if this is what I have or not?  Also, if you have any knowledge of Lupus I'd appreciate a definition of the disorder and what exactly it is.  If you don't think it's Lupus, what else could be cautioning this?

My face stays red all the time.  It gets really bad when I feel uncomfortable, drink alcohol, or get really nervous.  I can feel my face getting redder and redder.  I know it's not me feeling embarrassed because when I go out in the sun, my face gets worse.  I've dealed with this for almost 3 years now.  If anyone could tell me what this is or where it comes from please let me know.  Thanks

I have been experiencing redness in my face and other extremities such as hands, elbows, knees backs of arms and love handles. It comes and goes with certain situations such as stress, heat o sun and anxiety. I turn red and sweat in situations when I shouldnt be embarassed although I find that I am wondering if Im red and this just increases the redness! I have gotten as far as to read about Rosacea and feel uncertain that this is what is going on with me due to the fact that my redness is my whole face and is hot as well as I start to sweat profusely.
Again the redness is primarily about the face ahnds elbows and knees.
Any information will be appreciated immensely.
Thank you.

I have a similar condition.  I have no clue as to the cause and it seems no Doctor does either.  I feel it is becoming hopeless.  I try not to let it run my life but it is hard to have to walk down the street and see people stare at you and know they're thinking, "What's wrong with that guy's face?"
Any help would be a godsend.

My problem is that my scalp is being very oily lately.  I am a person with a sensitive scalp and when I was young I also use to suffer from dandruff.  Actually, nowadays my scalp is still a bit flaky. I shampoo my hair twice a week, now I think that I have to opt to shampoo my hair 3 times a week because it's exceeding more sebum and I don't know a remedy for this problem.  Genially the day after I wash it becomes oily again. As far as I'm concerned I tried everything, to suit this problem I use tepid water and finish the final rinse with a cool water in order to close the pores.  I try minimum message to lessen from producing more sebum and normally I use 2 different shampoos (scalp cleansing) for flaky scalp and (Deep Cleansing) it has the tea tree oil to combat the oily scalp, though I wash it 3 times, using deep cleansing once for 60 seconds and rinse off thoroughly.  However, I was wondering to buy a good lotion to adequate with an oily scalp, cause I reckon that the vast majority of shampoos don't heal.  Thus I need a treatment for dealing with seborrhea which acts like blotting paper to soak up excess sebum and have an astringent effect on the glands with regular and continuous use, will gradually cause them to shrink and produce less sebum.  If you know any other particular remedies (also tips), please tell me.  Eventually I am loosing allot of hair when I come to wash it, because of the condition of my scalp.  And If you know a good treatment shampoo, please state one, I am willing to buy it, whatever it takes!  Besides can you tell me how should I use the products even for a future use. Thanks in advance for your help.

Yours Sincerely

Bjorn Mayo
