Red infection on the face

Hello!

I'm 14 year old boy. I have problems with my skin. I have an infection, but i don't know, what kind of infection it is. I have red spots on my face and in places these spots are surrounded by a small wall. Skin is sometimes dry (especially with some creams) and desquamates. Sometimes it's more ruddy and sometimes less. It's on my cheeks, nose and chin. I had it on my head too. Or i think, that it was the same. I had there red spots, but not anymore. I had scurf also, but not anymore. And my skin desquamated a little bit in my ears also, but there in ears i didn't have red spots or something and not a big desquamateing. At summer, when it's sunny and i swim in a pool where is chlorine water, about 4 hours, then i don't have it on next day. Sun helps probably, but i have read, that it can cause skin cancer after a long time, if you use UV lamps, to repair it. Maybe chlorine helps also and water probably also. Hydrocortisone is very effective, but if you use it over 7 days, it can cause other type of infections. It helps after 1-3 days, but not for a very long time. At my age it can be acne also, but i'm not sure, is it acne. What it can be? What would help? I uploaded some pictures also.

Thanks, Rowena Santos.

I'm sure, that it isn't rosacea, because i don't have papules and pustules. Irritation, infection and dermatitis should be more specified. Irritation should be associated with some kind of infection probably, but what kind of infection? Or it can be without an infection also? If dermatitis, then what kind of? Seborrhoeic dermatitis? By the way, i visited dermatologist, but he couldn't help me. He suspected unreal and wrong infections, so of course, laboratory send the results and i don't have them. Now i want to visit a better dermatologist.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi,

This could be due to  rosacea, irritation, infection or dermatitis. Rosacea is a red facial rash that may present as red papules and sometimes pustules on the nose, forehead, cheeks and chin. The red face may be due to persistent or prominent blood vessels and may be associated with dry and flaky facial skin. This may be aggravated by sun exposure and hot and spicy food or drinks.

The cause of rosacea is unknown. There are several theories regarding the origin of overactive facial blood vessels and inflammation, including genetic, environmental, vascular, inflammatory factors. Try to avoid using any soap or harsh toiletries on the face. Keep the area clean and dry. If this persists, it would be best to have this evaluated by your dermatologist for proper management.

Take care and keep us posted.
