Red marks sporadically appearing on neck

I'm not sure this is acne or not, but I am getting these red marks (different sizes) on my neck sporadically. Initially I thought it was pimples but there is never anything to pop or any puss. Just bright red marks that eventually fade away if left alone. I'm doing my best to leave them alone, but when I wake up and see these bright marks I just get depressed.

Any ideas what these are and what could be causing them?

I have a Dr appt on Wed (2 days) so I'll see what he says but hoping to find something out sooner.

Thanks!

Unfortunately stress could easily be the trigger too, so hopefully I can get that under better control soon. Just part of my job.

Hi,

It is good that you have this evaluated by your doctor.  Try also to avoid substances that can trigger hives such as medications; pollen; insect bites; shellfish, fish, nuts, eggs, milk, and other foods. Emotional stress, extreme cold or sun exposure and excessive perspiration may also be responsible.

Take care and regards.

Dermatologist says it hives for anyone that might see this in the future. He prescribed an antihistamine to take before bed.
