Red patch on leg

Hello,

I have this small red area on my inner thigh, not in the leg folds where jock itch is, a little higher up across from my pubic area.  Some days it is more red than others but it does not itch, it doesn't ever look like it's inflamed at all, it doesn't look like jock itch or a skin rash, it's just red all the time.  I would say some days it looks more skin color than normal but it kind of worries me.  I have been putting Alcortin A on it, which my doctor gave me for Jock Itch.  It seemingly has no effect.  I guess what I'm trying to ask is can I have a patch of skin like this without having something wrong with me?

It can be due to dermatitis skin, eczema or psoriasis skin. Wash the areas several times with fresh water. Do not use any cosmetic products at the sites. You can apply some calamine lotion at the rash as it will help in soothing the skin. You can take some OTC oral antihistamine medications like Benadryl or Claritin and see if it helps. Also wear cotton clothes and consult a dermatologist to confirm the diagnosis.
