Red patch that seems to bleed

Red patch that seems to bleed

I am not sure if this is more of a skin cancer/rash/or general concern question so I am posting it to the general forum. On my back I have had a red spot for over a year now. It was first noticed by my mother after I had a mole removed above it. It has not gone away and today I was curious to see if it was raised or what it felt like and I vigorously rubbed it. When I did this the patch darkened, as if the rubbing was bringing more blood to the surface. Should I be worried about this spot? I have a doctors appointment on June 5th and I plan on asking, I just need to know if I should go in and be extremely worried about what is going on. Also, in a more private area of my body, I had what appeared to be a blood blister that when I picked/popped it bled profusely. Should this area also be brought up?

Hi.

I understand your concern with regards to this . At this point, I do not think this is cancerous. You have mentioned that a mole was removed from the same area about a year ago, is this correct?

Are you a keloid former? Does anyone in the family have keloids?

A vascular condition may be considered here although you have not mentioned of any rash in other parts of the body. A blood test may be done to check bleeding parameters .During your consult with your doctor it is best to mention the other spot in the private parts so it will also be assessed.

Not the exact area, but above it by a few inches. My Mom noticed because she asked why there were two red "scarred" areas on my back.

No I am not a keloid former, and there is no family history.

I was/am just worried that it could be a squamous cell carcinoma. I haven't been super diligent about sunscreen so I know my risks and odds are probably higher.
