Hello,
From your symptoms the possibility of hives or urticaria needs to be ruled out. The other possibility is of dermatitis skin. Hives (medically known as urticaria) are red, itchy, raised areas of skin that appear in varying shapes and sizes. They have a tendency to change size rapidly and to move around, disappearing in one place and reappearing in other places, often in a matter of hours.
Many cases of hives are "idiopathic," meaning no cause is known. Others may be triggered by viral infections or medications.
I suggest you to get it evaluated from a dermatologist and get the diagnosis confirmed.
I hope it helps. Take care and regards.
Anyone? Feel free to chime in? I made an apoint. with Mayo in Rochester Mn for Thurs. So, we'll see then I suppose.
I have looked up contact, atopic dermatitis any I am just unsure. I googled itchy red skin after shower and get literally hundreds of similar stories out there, but no cure? I read about aqua pruritus as well. Also, I should say last month I had 7 differnt auto immune tests ran becuase of sore joints, that resolved. No tests were positive. My CBC a few days ago was normal, WBC was 7.6. Thats about all I can think of. I hate this mild stingy feeling going on even though it's not flared up red. I am taking some benadryl, but it just relieves it, doesn't make it go away.
