Hello,

Eczema is a form of dermatitis,or inflammation of the epidermis. The prescription that your dermatologist has prescribed is the suitable treatment for eczema. Eczema can be exacerbated by dryness of the skin. Moisturizing is one of the most important self-care treatments for sufferers of eczema. Keeping the affected area moistened can promote skin healing and relief of symptoms.

Also avoid harsh soaps and detergents, In addition to avoiding soap, other products that may dry the skin such as powders or perfume should also be avoided. U.S. National Eczema Association claims that "the best way to get water into your skin is to briefly soak in a bath or shower and to moisturize immediately afterwards."

There are many precautions to be taken which due to space restraint are impossible to give in this post. You can log on to the following for reference:

I sincerely hope it helps.Take care and pls do keep me posted on how you are doing or if you have any additional queries.Kind regards.

Hello,

Sorry for the delay in reply. Regarding psoriasis it can effect more than one body part not because it is contagious but because it is an immune system disorder and can involve any body part. A diagnosis of psoriasis is usually based on the appearance of the skin. There are no special blood tests or diagnostic procedures for psoriasis. Sometimes a skin biopsy, or scraping, may be needed to rule out other disorders and to confirm the diagnosis.

I feel that you should get it evaluated from a dermatologist and get it biopsied so that all doubts whether it is psoriasis or not are cleared.I sincerely hope it helps.Take care and pls do keep me posted on what the dermatologist says.Kind regards.

Hello,

How are you?

Unfortunately I could not see the picture.Regarding psoriasis, the silvery white scales plaques frequently occur on the skin of the elbows and knees, but can affect any area including the scalp and genitals. The cause of psoriasis is not known, but it is believed to have a genetic component. Several factors are thought to aggravate psoriasis. These include stress, excessive alcohol consumption, and smoking.

The treatment of psoriasis includes immunosuppressants and vit A like methotrexate, cyclosporine and retinoids, phototherapy and photochemotherapy.

I am forwarding you a link which shows the photos of genital psoriasis. You can see if the lesions match your dry rash. http://www.visualdxhealth.com/searchResults/adult_Male_Anogenital.htm

Hello,

I cannot confirm anything without examination but it can be eczema, contact dermatitis or psoriasis.

Eczema is a form of chronic dermatitis (rash).Allergic reaction is one of the important causes of eczema. Psoriasis is a non contagious disease which affects the skin and joints. It commonly causes red scaly patches to appear on the skin. Skin rapidly accumulates at these sites and takes on a silvery-white appearance. The lesions described you definitely  sound like psoriasis.

Wash the areas several times with fresh water. Do not use any cosmetic products at the sites. You can apply some calamine lotion at the rash as it will help in soothing the skin.

See the treatment for all are different. So pls get a clinical examination done by a dermatologist to confirm a diagnosis.

Hope it helps. Take care and pls do keep me posted on how you are doing or if you have any additional queries.Kind regards.
