Red spots, first on my back spreding to other parts of my body.

I’m 75 with previous history of TBC when child, artificial hips and knee. Not allergic to any known items. Worked with plants and have traveled all over the world. Five days ago my back was covered to 50% with red spots, 5 – 25 mm, slightly upraised and itching. A doctor could not identify the reason for this and gave me Tavegyl (Antihistamin Klemastin) with some effect on the itching but not on the spots. They spread later over the upper arms, the front and down the upper part of legs. They are now less upraised and a little less bright colored. I have no fewer and is not affected in any other way.

A sudden shower of red spots often is nothing more than folliculitis (inflamed follicles.)  Treatment consists of antihistamines and watchful waiting.  If, as expected, the bumps subside over a period of 7-10 days, I'd forget about them.  If they worsen or persist, you should show the doctor again.

Take care.
