Red spots w white crust *pic*

Hello.
For about 3 yrs I have suffered from sever skin itch on my legs. I scratch so bad I bleed. It comes on strong for a few weeks then goes away. Recently I started to see red spots with white crusty skin appearing. Started on my belly and moved up my torso and to my hips. I saw a Dr. at the emerg and she said it might be a viral infection. They are not very itchy but I am concerned as they are spreading to my hands, legs and groin. I have been working out of town and am staying at a hotel. Could it be an allergy to the soap they use on the linens? Also I have noticed that any scratches I had previously have turned red and now have this crust. Please help :(
