Thanks for the response.
I've been for the most part refraining from masturbation for the past month.
I accidently re-irritated it on October 5th, and what happened after that is it created new scabs, to heal it I assume, and those scabs have recently fallen off. Now, the skin underneath is still slightly red, but it is fading. Slowly... very, very slowly, it is fading. There is still a fairly defined edge to the patch of reddish skin, and the skin right now feels a teeny bit rough in comparison to the skin around it, but in general it is looking much better than it did two or three weeks ago.
Should I just be patient? Do you think it will heal all the way?
Hello,
Without examination it is very difficult to confirm a diagnosis, but the symptoms are suggestive of contact dermatitis(allergic or irritant) , allergies, sweat dermatitis ,eczema or balanitis.
Balanitis is an inflammatory condition of the glans penis. Symptoms include local irritation, burning and a red rash often wih peeling. Eczema appears as diffuse red plaques with a poorly defined edge and finely scaled surface and can be caused by infection or local reaction to allergens.
I feel that an examination by a dermatologist is required to confirm a diagnosis as without examination, confirming a diagnosis is tough.Till then keep that area clean and wear cotton undergarments.Application of calamine lotion also helps in soothing the skin.
Hope it helps.Take care and pls do keep me posted on how you are doing or if you have any additional doubts.
