under the head. These bumps are fairly hard. On several occasions i have tried to get to the root of these bumps and basically the way i do this is by pulling at the bumps and when i pull at them, pieces of white stringy material come out which i feel maybe skin. When the skin comes of i am able to see a red dot which is the absolute root of these bumps. Eventually the skin grows again over the red dot and forms the same bumps. I have never had any pain or irritation and have never cared about these bumps up until now. What are these little bumps? Also besides the bumps there are little areas around the same area of these bumps that look like little holes when the skin is stretched and they look like little scabs when the skin is not stretched.. Please get back and help tell me what they could be.
Hello,
The painless lump that you having seems like a sebaceous cyst. A sebaceous cyst is a closed sac occurring just under the skin which contains a "pasty" or "cheesy" looking substance called keratin. Blocked sebaceous glands, swollen hair follicles and excessive testosterone production will cause such cysts.
Generally no treatment is required but they become painful then it means they are infected,Then surgical excision by traditional wide excision, minimal excision, and punch biopsy excision may be required.
Hope it helps.Take care and pls do keep me posted on how you are doing or if you have any additional doubts.Kind regards.
