by Baseball Fan, Feb 12, 2004 12:00AM
Hi Back in late Novemeber, early Dec, I had a bad out break of cold sore/fever blisters around my mouth, Anyway they seemed to have left some lightredness around my upper lip that won't go away, It is not painful or anything I am just wondering about it.
                                                   Thanks

After an outbreak of herpes or any other inflammation, the skin can look somewhat discolored for a while, maybe a few weeks or months.  It doesn't mean anything, goes away on its own, and requires no treatment.

If you get outbreaks often and they leave persistent discoloration that bothers you, you may want to speak to your doctor about treatment to limit or suppress outbreaks.

Take care.
