Redness around nose and chheks

I am a 22 year old male.  I have had allergy problems, and asthma since about the age of nine. at about 16 i started developing a red, tichy, flaky types rash near my cheeks and nose, and forehead.  When i get hot and sweaty it makes it worse.  And putting water on my face makes it worse.  I can't wash my face like i would like too beacause when i have a outbreak it makes it worse to get it wet and rub.   Help.  It is so embrassing to be 22 and have these outbreaks.  Can you tell me anythingi van get OTC for this.  I really would like to see a dermatologist  i am so sick of feeling the embarassment of this  when it is really bad.  Please help.

Hi.

This has been present for quite sometime. Differentials for this will be a fungal infection, seborrheic dermatitis, or an allergic reaction.

Do certain food, weather, smoke, intense heat elicit a flare up?

Would you be able to point out any possible triggers which would seem to cause any flare ups at this point?

Also, does this involve other areas of the body like the scalp, the area behind the ears and the extremities?

Is there a strong family history of asthma or allergies?

Hi Lucky

I am not a doctor, but I have the same problem as you.

I saw my Doctor, and he prescribed me a cream called Lotriderm, which is a Steroid cream and this clears the problem up in 24 hours. Perhaps you could see your Doctor, he is the only person who can tell for sure.
