Redness on head of penis

Redness on head of penis

I am a 22 year old male. for months now I have been dealing with a redness that some times goes pink on the head of my penis. It usually is only on the top part and sometimes the tip is red. I have been tested for all STDs including herpes. All came tests came back negative. I was told to use an antibacterial soap or a antifungus soap. when I used the antibacterial soap it helped clear it up a bit but it was still noticable. I have been using an antifungus bodywash for a few weeks now and I'm still experiencing this same problem. I am not circumcised and I shower regularly. Please help me figure out how to cure this.

Hello,
This redness can be due to friction rub, contact dermatitis or chafing. Wash the areas several times with fresh water. Do not use any cosmetic products at the sites. You can apply some calamine lotion at the rash as it will help in soothing the skin. Also wear cotton undergarments. Application of mild corticosteroid cream and oral antiinflammatories like ibuprofen/acetaminophen are also helpful. If the symptoms are severe then it will be best to consult a dermatologist.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.

I had these redness or pink spots for 1.5 years. Sometimes my foreskin got irritated as well. Many doctors, different medications (antibiotics, fluconazole for fungus, steroid creams and home remedies. Unfortunately nothing helped me. Then I went to see an urologyst and told me I had recurrent balanitis and he recommended me to circumsice my penis. After thinking for a long time about  and looking that my penis didn't heal with the medications , I went for the surgery. One year already and no redness spots anymore. Your problem may be different than mine, therefore make an appointment with an urologyst and if you want more information, you can send me messeges at my inbox. Good luck!!
