Regarding testicals

It started about tuesday evening. I was sweaty around my groin, and developed a rash. I first thought I might of been chaffed because of the sweating. I applied some itch cream the other night which relieved the itch but then soon got real hot and started to burn. So I washed it all off. Been staying read and slightly bummby and burning every since. Today the left testical is still rashed and burns. Hurts when it rubs against my leg and it's only the left side. Feels like my whole sack is swollen. The red rashy bumps look as if they have a slight black spot on them. I don't know what has happened to me. Can you please give me some information. The burning is uncomfortable and some times when I urinate the lower left side of my stomache hurts. Please give me any advice you can thanks.

Hi,

Any rash in body folds is referred to as intertrigo. Affected skin is reddened and uncomfortable. Body folds are prone to inflammatory rashes because of relatively high skin temperature and moisture from insensible water loss and sweating cannot evaporate.  Friction from movement of adjacent skin also results in chafing. Bacteria and yeasts which are normally resident on the skin multiply in such environments and may result in further damage to the skin.

Diagnosis needs a swab for microscopy and culture of micro-organisms, or a scraping to rule out fungi.  Treatment depends on the underlying cause and on which micro-organisms are present in the rash. It would be best to have it evaluated by your doctor. Fungal infection responds well to anti-fungal medication while antibiotics is indicated with bacterial infection.
