Reoccuring rash on penis

by vons, Nov 22, 2006 12:00AM
About 10 months ago I had unprotected sex with a woman and got a severe, blistering rash afterward. Since then, I have had a reoccurring rash on the head and foreskin (I am uncircumcized) of my penis. It usually gets red and itchy and then goes away. It is more likely to happen when I skip showering for a day. Other changes that I have noticed is that I have what looks like red goosebumps on the head of my penis. They are not very noticeable but they were not there before. The skin on the head of my penis seems to have lost some elasticity because now it appears wrinkled where before it was smooth. Lastly, since the incident I have had problems sustaining erections during sex. I have been checked out for STDs and have come out clean. I also saw a urologist who prescribed nystatin/triamcinolone cream, which hasn't been very effective, and suggested that some women were just "ball-busters" as the cause of the erectile problem. I am not a paranoid person & I have had unprotected sex in the past. I know something is wrong & I would like your advice. Thanks.

I doubt that very much is wrong.  This sounds like little more than residual irritation, which leaves behind redness that can last a long time, means nothing, and goes away best when left alone.  As to the erectile dysfunction, that can be from worrying that you got something or can spread it.  If your worries persist, you can show another doctor, perhaps a dermatologist or STD specialist your penis.  But since you've already been examined by a urologist, I can't imagine what else they'd find....

Take care.
