Reoccuring red spot on penis

Reoccuring red spot on penis

Dr.

First off I have a teenage son who has be diagnoised with MRSA. I have been tested for MRSA and came up negative

However I get from time to time various deep red marks on my skin, some have abcessed. They usually last a few days and go away, sometimes they leave a small bruise. However they are always in different spots

My concern is that I do get a reoccuring circular deep red spot on the head of my penis the size of a nickel with a small white spot in the middle that will scab over before it goes way. I have had this three times now, the first time 14 months ago, the next time 2 1/2 months ago and now. When I got this 2 1/2 months ago it was preceded by a sore throat as now, and each outbreak coincided with a red mark on another part of my body that came and went within a few days, not sure if this is a coincidence or not.

I can feel a slight tingling on the spot on the penis before the red spot occurs and the spot is sensitive during the outbreak.  The spot will last about 10-14 days with as I mentioned the center turning white and then scabbing over. Once the outbreak is over I can see a very small light purple bruse in the area that is smaller than the size of the mark during the outbreak

Because of my son's diagnosis my doctor has prescribed Bactrin DS to take whenever I see spots starting to occur anywhere on my body. For this spot on my penis I also will apply 2% Micropucin three times a day

The issue I have is this spot occurs in the exact same spot on my penis, with the same white center. I have had testing for STD but it came up negative, as did the MRSA test

Could this be an STD reocurring like this?, or is there a reason that they MRSA would reoccur on the same spot on the penis but not on other parts of the body?

Thanks for any help

MRSA produces pus-filled abscesses, not flat red spots.  I can't tell you what the red spots on the penis are, but they don't sound either like MRSA or staph infections or like an STD.  I'm also not  that comfortable with the recommendation that you take Bactrim every time you see "a spot."  I think you ought to see a skin doctor--bring photos of your spots, in case they aren't in full bloom when you go.  Also, do not under any circumstances squeeze or pick any of these spots, since that will make it impossible for the doctor you see to tell what they are.  I can think of no connection between any of this and a sore throat.

Best.
